Re: 1989 - Rock 'n' roll gypsies
Its so easy to forget saxon were at the very forefront of early 80s heavy metal.
But unlike Maiden and the Lepps they never got the breaks or the record company push to really break world wide.
Yet on stage they were a match for anyone.
This Cd reissue of a 1989 eastern europe concert shows graphically their basic but endearing form of HM.
Cliched at times, yes but Biff & Co. never took themselves seriously enough for that to be a problem
(something the current crop of nu-metallers should note).
So sit back and enjoy the anti-war 'Broken Heroes', the classic 'Dallas 1pm' and the boogie-fest 'The Eagle Has Landed'.
Can't wait for the next tour!!
Not only do you get a superior live album from a superior live band, you get it the way it should be:
remastered for the highest possible sound quality & more of it with bonus tracks!
This band has always be overshadowed by its more high profile brethren, but musically they've ALWAYS rocked!!
Get this immediately, metal fans!
It surprises me how many metalheads have never heard this classic band!
The more people I turn on to them, the more that WANT to hear them; they've just been denied the opportunity!
See 'em live if you can; they STOMP!!
